The Western Coastal & Marine Forum will be held at the Deakin Warrnambool Campus on the 8th and 9th of July 2010.
Western Coastal and Marine Forum a success!
The Western Coastal and Marine Forum was sucessfully held on the 8th and 9th of July in Warrnambool. The Forum focused on current key issues for the west coast and addressed important opportunities and challenges for coastal communities. With over 110 people who participated in the Forum at Deakin University Warrnambool campus, it proved to be a popular and informative regional event. With keynote speeches from Bruce Thom, President of Australian Coastal Society, and John Ginivan, Executive Director of Planning Policy, Department of Planning and Community Development, which were well received. Other highlights included the interactive field trips, workshop sessions and an enjoyable entertaining evening dinner celebration with presentations from both Reg Lipson and Rod Quantock.
The Western Coastal Board would like to acknowledge the valuable contributions from the broad range of speakers, attendees, as well as Deakin University and the Victorian Coastal Council.
We will be updating the website with a summary of the Forum and speaker presentations in the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on the website for further information.
Thanks again to all who attended, contributed and made this a worthwhile event.
