Western Victoria Boating Coastal Action Plan

The Western Coastal Board is preparing a new Coastal Action Plan (CAP) for recreational boating in western Victoria, in accordance with section 22 of the Coastal Management Act 1995.

The purpose of the Western Victoria Boating CAP is to provide strategic direction and objectives for the use, development and management of boating infrastructure and facilities within the region. It will form the policy basis for the planning and management of recreational boating facilities along the Western coast and estuaries of Victoria.

The Western Victoria Boating CAP will set a vision for 2040, and provide short and medium term guidance for public and private investment to support boating, whilst recognising important coastal uses and values. It will apply to the municipalities of Surf Coast Shire, Colac Otway Shire, Corangamite Shire, Warrnambool City, Moyne Shire and Glenelg Shire.

The Western Victoria Boating CAP is being developed in partnership with industry, community and Local and State Government and will include extensive consultation.
